I'm annoyed at my son for perhaps being TOO generous.
This past indoor season, my son was on 2 teams, primarily as the goalie for each. Got all the time on 1 team, split time with another kid on the other. One other setup point. My son left one of his gloves at the practice before this past weekend's games, so he brought with him a brand new pair of never used goalie gloves in case the lost glove wasn't found by a coach, etc.
Well, the lost glove WAS found, so he didn't need to use the brand new gloves.
But the goalie he splits with? Well, he forgot his gloves. And my son didn't want him to have to wear the pair that he'd already been using and gotten sweaty inside, etc. So the other boy got to use the brand new gloves.
And this game is played on artificial indoor turf, and the 'new' gloves are pretty well used at this point after only 1 game of use by the other kid. I'm wondering why I'm buying fairly high end equipment for my son to let another kid damage it? The thought of "let's help out my teammate" is a good one, but sorry dude, you get to borrow the USED gloves, not the brand new never worn ones that were brought just in case we couldn't find the lost one.
